PBIS

PBIS

PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.

PBIS uses proactive education strategies to teach all students the expected behaviors in all school settings.  Students do not know how to behave if they have not been taught.  As teachers we use every opportunity to teach & reteach so that our students will have all the tools they need to be productive members of society.

Clear expectations for each area have been taught & are posted around the building.

Good choices are modeled and reinforced through recognition, both verbal & through the use of GOTCHA cards.

GOTCHA cards are tangible reinforcement of positive behavior.  When a student receives a GOTCHA they should be told clearly what behavior of our BEST they were exhibiting so that it serves as a teaching moment for other students.

Each class has developed their own system of recognizing GOTCHA cards & reinforcing positive behavior.
